As the students file in this morning, I am hoping to see each on with their books in hand having read last night. We have had this program in place school wide for a year now and so I know each child knows and understands how the program is suppose to work. Some of you may have been greeted by a friendly letter from your child yesterday explaining what is needed of them. Thanks for being so supportive and helping them to become better readers by signing the line on the reading log each night. I have asked each of the kids to fill in the information for you so that all you have to do is check that it is accurate and then sign it. The Glerum newsletter highlights this program frequently as well as the newsletter in the bags. The volunteers that come daily are so priceless. They take the time to read with each child and give them some one-on-one much appreciated praise and encouragement. It is so disappointing to have to tell them the students did not do their reading. I do not want the volunteers to feel as if they are not needed -because they are! I know you value this program as much as we all do. Thanks for helping your child to be a success with it !
