Websites to Visit...

I have added a couple of VERY HELPFUL and USEFUL links to our website.  We are just getting into unit 2 in math and the homework that has been turned in so far seems to have proven to be tricky for most.

We have great resources for you available through our math program.  The family letters that are sent home are VERY IMPORTANT and share things that you will need to take note of.  The students recently took one home for unit 2 that explained the multiplication arrays.  Can't find it?  Your child did not show it to you?  No worries - it is right online for you to use.  The think central website has student resources available to go with each lesson. Attached are all of the resources available to families including a talking glossary and additional games/activities to help your child learn.  Your child has an id and password that they have used at school to get on and can use  it at home as well.  Check it out - it is very important that they stay caught up in math as we will continue to build on things throughout the year.

This is what the think central website looks like when your child logs in and goes to their student activity book.  This will allow you to see what they have done during the day in school for the lesson:

When you go to the little red book at the top of the page - you will access a table of contents and can go directly to the lesson for that day.  The lesson number is always listed on the homework assignments that come home in the upper left hand corner.

Once into the activity book and on the lesson that we have learned, you can click on the chain links icon two down from the table of contents and you will see additional resources that link directly to the lesson all available to you:

When you click on these resources - the site will take you into the necessary tools to help your child complete the lesson.  You can go to the glossary or explanations.  The Education Place is a special resource for families to understand math expressions.  Destination Math links all of the days content to extra mastery games and activities.  It is amazing and so easy!!

This is the menu that comes up when you click on the iTools.  If you go to the iTools right from the lesson it will bring you to only the tools that assit with that particular lesson.  The complete iTools menu like this is found in your child's library at the beginning of the think central login.  They love these and we use them in class frequently.  They do not all get a chance to do them daily and would probably love to go to them at home.

I hope you take a couple of minutes to look at all of the great resources for you with our math program - it is amazing!!
