We started working with our nonfiction reading unit this week. Today we linked our common core standards for informational reading to the CAFE strategies on our classroom CAFE menu so that we could see what reading strategies we would be working on/with the most during this unit. We used prediction, preview and prior knowledge today to study our books and take some notes. We are each making an anchor chart with the main ideas of successful nonfiction reading.
