It was great to see all of the smiling faces back yesterday. It sounds like everyone had a restful and relaxing break! We are starting right back into our curriculum this week with a few new things:
* We finished our math unit 4 (which we are all - including me- thrilled about(. We are starting unit 5 which is measurement. This unit is going to go very quickly since it only contains a few lessons. Each lesson contains quite a bit of review in it and so the test will probably come as early as the first part of next week.
* In reading, we are going to continue to study our informational text this week. The change in reading is that since we completely our group project before break, we will be working on this text independently.
* This week Thursday we will be taking the Delta Math screener online. This will let us now which areas everyone has already mastered for the year and where we should spend our focus of instruction for the rest of the school year.
* In social studies, we will continue and hopefully finish up our
geography of the U.S.
* In writing, we will be working through poetry
this week.
PLEASE NOTE.....
** The tulip time slips need to come back this week as well if your child plans on marching. You will need to call the office of you need a costume for the parade. So far, I have not seen any parent volunteers on the slips for chaperoning - please consider.....there are costumes for parents as well.
**There are many fun and exciting events coming up for our school. Watch the school newsletter for all of the imporatnt info.
** Keep the donations coming on for our ice cream carnival basket. We have a couple items, but, not nearly enough yet.
**Lastly we are in desperate need of Kleenex and Lysol wipes. Please consider donating some for us - THANKS!!
