A Special Guest....

We welcomed Ronnie, Miss Owens nephew, to our room on Friday afternoon of last week.  He was such an inspiration to all of us.  We had seen him throughout the day in the building and had been calling him the "big cool guy" so when he said he would come to our room - we were thrilled.  Ronnie shared his vision for the future and told all of us how important it is to study and try hard in school because that would lead to happiness later in life.  The students were mesmerized with his enthusiastic way of presenting the need to excel in school.
He told us about his desire to study beyond college and his interest in politics.  We each had a chance to ask him questions and he answered them all honestly and with meaning for the students.  He told them that what they learn today in fourth grade they will need to use in fifth grade and beyond because he is senior this year and remembers learning the things we are now and still uses them.
Thanks so much for  visiting - we will remember your words and try to take them to heart.  Keep up the great job at school!

Here are a few thoughts from our room: (which they typed out themselves )

I learned from Ronnie! I think that he has a lot of faith in himself. I hope that he came to our room 114 to visit again. He taught me about what you have to do to  get into a good college and be smart.  He said you need  to listen do homework and believe that you can do it . When he got to high school,  he started to work hard on school because he knew it was important to get a good education. school . Ronnie is cool  and smart!
